Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday!

Firstly, apologies for the lack of blog posts this week. It's easy for me to beat myself up and feel really guilty about failing to blog some days, but good friends have reminded me this week that it's important for me to accept that this is just the reality of juggling a full-time nursing career alongside everything else in my life... blogging, running, catching up with friends, keeping up a relationship, baking, etc etc etc...!

It's been a busy week work-wise which yet again, left me feeling exhausted, emotional and a little bit broken! When I'm tired, there are always tears. There's been lots of tears this week. For once though I have the weekend off which as you can imagine is a wonderful feeling!!

I spent last night with three of my cousins at my cousin Paul's house in Crystal Palace which he shares with his beautiful wife, Martha. It was so special to be together, all my cousins and I get on so well but we don't see each other very often so we always have so much to catch up on. We had a yummy dinner and a little too much wine... I didn't get home until 4am (yes, 4am!!!!!!!!), I'm not sure how that happened?! So this morning I had the biggest lay in and swore to myself I wouldn't feel guilty because of it!

The rest of my Saturday has been spent in my pyjamas, lazing about on the sofa, drinking hot chocolate, online Christmas shopping, planning some Christmas baking and blog posts, watching the rugby, catching up on channel 4's You Can't Get The Staff (hilarious cringeworthy tv!), painting my nails, munching on Thornton's chocolate, lighting candles and watching some of my fave vlogs. It's been the most perfect afternoon, I needed a day like today so, so much. Sometimes you just need to be really lazy and unwind don't you?! I finally feel like peace has been restored!

Tomorrow I'm either going to go running or swimming depending on how I'm feeling and I plan on doing some baking, getting the flat tidy and sorted for the week ahead, writing my Christmas card list, cooking some roast pork for lunch and enjoying some more guilt free lazy times...

I hope you're enjoying your weekend and I'm really looking forward to lots more blogging over the next few weeks!

Love,

Lydia xxx
