Things that have made me happy this week...
Self indulgence
...because it's totally necessary sometimes, isn't it?! I treated myself to a new pretty floral scarf in the Fatface sale and enjoyed the naughtiest hot chocolate in Bill''s Cafe earlier in the week whilst waiting for my friend to finish work. Sitting in cafes by myself always makes me feel like a real grown-up {hah}!
The best sunset run
I always feel good for getting out and running, whatever the weather. But you can't beat a cracking sunset. I can't explain how happy the beautiful sun rays made me, whilst I was running in My Happy Place {Greenwich} this week...
Trek bars
I've eaten a few too many of these this week. Oh my word they are so incredibly yummy and FULL of protein! LOVE.
Friday! Where to begin?! It's actually been a really rubbish week. After all the excitement of the past few weeks we were hit with a ton of bricks when we found out that the lease of the flat we were in the process of buying, turned out to be only 85 years. BOOM. Problem. I didn't know a lot about leases until recently but basically in simple terms you don't really want to invest in a property with a lease much lower than 90-100 years because as the lease lowers, so does the value of the property. And when you hit 80 years you hit big problems which could result in having to pay lots and lots of money. Anyway. After lots of crying {on my part}, lots of thinking, lots of calculating {on Rob's part} and lots of sighing we decided that it would be best to pull out and move on. Yeah, MOVE ON. Like the pun?! Ha! This is much, much easier said than done especially when you have your heart set on it. I had already begun furniture planning!! It's been a real shock and has been difficult to come to terms with but, as ever, it's important to stay positive. We're lucky to have some incredible friends and family who have cheered us both up massively and given us the words of encouragement we have needed to hear. We'll be moving in with Rob's mum at the end of April when our current tenancy runs out, we're so lucky to have this as an option {even if she's probably dreading us moving back in}! There's plenty more fish in the sea as they say... I'm sure we will find another home just as perfect. And so the painful process of house hunting begins... AGAIN! Argh!!!!
On a happier note, I am off work for the entire weekend which as you may have gathered by now doesn't happen all that often! Rob and I are having a 'date day' today, something we haven't done in a while. We're off on a few exciting adventures in London, I'm super excited and I can't wait to hang out all day with my favourite person. Tomorrow I'm taking my Mum on a belated birthday surprise trip on the train to meet my sister in Bath, for more surprises!! She has no clue what the plans are so I wont say too much just yet but I'll blog about it next week for sure. And then Sunday will be spent at home with a roast dinner, lots of catch up TV and not much else... my idea of heaven.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for lots more beautiful Spring sunshine!
