Things that have made me happy this week...
Brunch at Villandry
We had the best brunch on Sunday with my lovely friend Clare and her boyfriend, Scott. Have you been to Villandry before? There's a couple of locations but we went to the one on Great Portland Street and if you haven't been, it's definitely worth a visit. The menu is deeeeelicious, mostly serving French and Mediterranean food. As well as a cafe area, a shop and a deli, they also have a slightly more sophisticated restaurant area. We ate in the cafe which was really spacious and bright. I had the most amazing continental breakfast I've had in years... pain au chocolat, cheeses, ham, an amazing fruit salad and some toast, with a spinach smoothie and hot chocolate. Big yum. Deffo recommend.
The Holiday
Like most girls at Christmas I have a long list of festive films I like to work my way through during December. You can't beat a good old Christmas film! This week we watched The Holiday which is up there with my most favourites. Rob had never seen it before!!!! Whaaaaat?! I obviously had to amend this! So I put my pjs on with some big fluffy socks, and we lay on the sofa watching The Holiday with terry's chocolate orange ice cream... perfection.
(I say I was 'watching' but of course what I really mean is I was drooling over Jude Law...)

Stollen
I think stollen is like marmite, people tend to love it or hate it. I love it. Love it, love it, love it. Rob's mum obviously knows me too well because she delivered us a box of the stuff. Too good!
The Tree at Somerset House
We finally viisted the tree, the famous tree! I like to think that Somerset House's Christmas tree is London's mini version of the huge tree at the Rockefeller in NYC. It's just one of those places you've got to visit every year and get a few photos. This year the Ice Rink at Somerset House has been sponsored by Fortnum and Mason and the tree has been adorned with beautiful wicker hampers along with gold and turquoise baubles. It's pretty cute I think. And what's not to love about Fortnum and Mason...?! We didn't skate at Somerset House but wandered around and soaked up the atmosphere. I love it there at Christmas time.
I don't even know where this week has gone?! We enjoyed a busy weekend last weekend catching up with friends and on Monday it was back to work for the both of us. Only for two days though! I've been off the past few days and have been busy doing some uni work, and catching up on much needed sleep. Tonight is my work Christmas party and for the first time in four years I am not working, so I am attending!! It's a miracle! I need to start getting ready, actually...! We're off to the Oval Cricket Ground for a posh dinner so I've got a little black lacey dress to wear. It's going to be strange seeing people all dressed up and not in uniform!
I've got four shifts to go until it's finally Christmas. Four shifts left!! Wahooooo! I can't put into words how excited I am to be heading back home on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas with my family and my loved ones. It's going to be so special.
Enjoy your weekend!
