We're currently driving back down south after the most wonderful week away up in Scotland! The past week has been full of happiness, we've had such a great time. After what feels like a really long few months of chaotic shift patterns for us both, it was so nice to have a week of total relaxation. I've got a few blog posts coming up featuring our stay in Loch Lomond, our flight on a seaplane(!) and our mini break in Edinburgh but for now I'll let you in on a few of the things which have bought me happiness this week...
That Autumn feeling
I've spent most of this week in my wellies and I've loved it! The countryside is absolutely beautiful at this time of year and I love all the colours that Autumn brings - it makes for such pretty walks, I couldn't help stopping for photos every 5 minutes!
Log fires
I feel like we've completed a marathon of pub lunches and dinners this week! And we've enjoyed a few of them beside log fires which has been absolute bliss.
Fresh fish
We've enjoyed some of the best fish we've ever eaten this past week - I experienced my first ever 'special fish supper' which is by no means a delicacy but is basically a fish and chips takeaway made with breadcrumbs instead of batter. It was so good!! We also had the most incredible lunch at the one and only Loch Fyne oyster bar beside the loch itself. We both agreed it was one of the nicest meals we've ever had.
The White Company treats
Love love love!
And of course... spending time with this handsome chap
So looking forward to finally being back down south where we belong.
We're driving straight down to visit my parents - I haven't seen my mumma since July so I am reaaaaally excited for her hugs, some delicious home cooked food and a countryside walk. Then we'll be back home to London where we've got a massive heap of washing to do before getting sorted for work on Tuesday. I start my new job soon too - it's all go!
Have a brilliant weekend everyone.
Lydia xxx
