It's been a long and busy week but I'm finally on my annual leave... hooraaaaaaaay! I'm so looking forward to a much deserved break! We travel up to Scotland tomorrow evening, I'm so excited for a little getaway. So I'm spending this evening packing, painting my nails and getting myself sorted.
I thought I'd share with you a few of my recent homeware buys. I really need to go on a candle buying ban... whoops!
Gold effect photo frames
I bought these for £2 each(!!) in a shop called Tiger in Chiswick. I couldn't find the exact ones on their website but these are very similar. I love them!
Mercury gold candle holder
This fell into my shopping basket this morning when I was in Tesco. I love mercury effect glass, it's so pretty and twinkly when the candles are lit. This little beauty cost £5 and is orange and cinnamon scented, perfect for Autumn/Winter.
Silver spruce star candles
I bought these in Waitrose last week. I thought they would be perfect for Christmas! They're wax filled but will make cute tealight holders once the wax has all burnt down. They were £4 each but I just had to buy two to make a pair... naturally!

Heart-pressed glass jars
I love these!! I was given them as a belated birthday present from my lovely friend Georgie. She bought them in TK Maxx, but I couldn't find them on their website. But Not On The High Street sell pretty much identical ones. You can never have too many little storage jars for bits and bobs and I love the hearts pressed on the front. I'm in the process of hand-making one of my best friend's wedding confetti so these are perfect for storing the confetti in until the big day.
Stanford's library map of The Isle of Dogs
I have a great love of historic maps - something I've definitely inherited from my Dad. He is a map fanatic! There's an amazing shop just off Greenwich Market, called Warwick Leadlay - I always pop in when I walk past to have a browse. Rob and I had been saying for a while that we wanted to buy an old map of the area we're living in now as a reminder of where we first lived together, so when I saw this I fell in love. I bought it for £20 and I'm so pleased with it - just need to get to Ikea to purchase a frame!
Patisserie pink cake stand
I adore this dusky pink cake stand, especially the scalloped edge, I think it's so cute and kitsch! It cost £10 from Waitrose - not bad for a pretty stand on which to display my baking creations. A perfect addition to the kitchen!
Hope you're all having a great week... it's Friday eve!!
