It's all about burgundy... New Look shopping spree

So I had a one of those accidental shopping sprees in New Look this week... you know the ones where you just wander in the shop for a browse and end up coming out £26383627 poorer?! Big whoops! But thankfully (annoyingly) everything I tried on fitted perfectly and I fell in love with it all!

Burgundy and oxblood are really 'in' this season. This pleases me a lot as I'm a big fan of rich, dark, Autumn/Winter colours. I live in black tights throughout the colder months and love finding winter skirts and cosy tops I can layer up with.

Anyway, enough rambling. Here are some of my recent buys...





Burgundy paisley floral top - £12.99, New Look

This is a pretty simple top that I can throw on over any plain vest top - but I like the loose fitting sleeves - they're flattering and they hide my arms which I'm not particularly fond of! I love the colour, it's such a lush, deep pink and I think the floral pattern is cute.

Aztec printed tube skirt - £14.99, New Look

I love love love this skirt. The design has an Aztec feel to it and again I fell in love with the colours - paired together with the top above I think it makes for a perfect smart-casual outfit! I wore them out the other evening...

 Burgundy paisley print crochet hem dress - £19.99, New Look

I wasn't 100% sure on this dress because it's a tad on the long side and at 5"2 I'm quite small so I was worried it would drown me but now I've tried it on a few times at home I'm really pleased I bought it, I think the shape is quite flattering actually! I love the crochet hem at the bottom. I could wear it with little black ballet shoes or black heels to dress it up a bit...

Burgundy zip-pocket jumper - £19.99, New Look

It's all about staying cosy in the autumn & winter months... And you can never have too many jumpers! I bought this for the colour more than anything, I love it!! Again it's such a gorgeous deep burdundy. It's quite plain but it will be perfect to wear with some skinny jeans.

Purple brushed check-wrap skort - £17.99, New Look

I've welcomed to my wardrobe my first ever skort! I adore this tartan, I love the deep purple. This is just one of those items that will be ideal for some dressy nights out around Christmas time, if I'm feeling brave enough to pull it off! I think it would go perfectly with a black leotard top or little black tshirt, with tights and boots or heels.



Sleeveless floral shirt - £14.99, New Look

My wardrobe is full to the brim of floral patterned top and dresses so this was a naughty purchase but I really like it. I just think it's one of those tops I can wear casually or dress up a little with some nice jewellery.

I'm pretty impressed with New Look - it's one of those shops that is so hit and miss, sometimes I find nothing in there but other times it can be a total success. I'm really pleased with these buys though! What do you think? And what is on your winter wish list?
