Over the past year or so I've tried hard to make positive, long term changes to my diet in an attempt to be healthier. When doing the food shopping it's so easy to be tempted by chocolate, croissants, ice cream... the list goes on! I've done my best in attempting to limit processed foods from my diet and, whilst doing so, have been on the hunt for alternative foods containing natural sugars that are equally as appealing and tasty.
I came across the Sweet Freedom range in Holland & Barrett last week and was instantly intrigued to try the Choc Shot...
Hot chocolate is up there with my list of weaknesses when it comes to food and drink. I don't like coffee so it's always hot chocolate for me and it's a real treat, especially on cold evenings, to snuggle up and enjoy a hot chocolate.
Sweet Freedom's Choc Shot is made in the UK with 100% natural ingredients, it's suitable for vegetarians and vegans, low in calories and gluten free and GM free...and is even suitable for diabetics in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. If you're on slimming world it's 1/2 a syn per teaspoon.
I can genuinely say I'm really impressed. I was hesitant because there are so many unremarkable hot chocolate brands sold in the supermarkets these days, but the Choc Shot actually tastes really rich and chocolatey. I love the fact it comes in a squeezy bottle, meaning you don't have to faff around with powder and spoons and lumps in the milk.
What's more, the Choc Shot can be used in a variety of ways... not only can you squeeze it into hot milk to make hot chocolate but you can also drizzle it over fruit, pancakes, porridge, toast... you name it!
At £3.59 from Holland & Barrett you could say it's slightly on the pricey side but I'll definitely be purchasing this again.
